Stretching scraps - more baby sewing

Embellishing baby onesies is a perfect way to use up scrap fabric that, if you are like me, you just cannot bring yourself to throw out. They also make perfect gifts because there is no such thing has having too many onesies!

I just used a tube of fabric and sewed it on with elastic thread so it wouldn't be constricting on the little tummy. I used a scrap of knit to make a little flouncy hat to go along with it.

I just traced a baby hat and sewed on a brim. I then cut the brim through one layer and lettuce edged the two layers to give it the flouncy look.

Paired together it makes a lovely little gift set.

I started making shoes to go along with it, but as it turns out, my shoe making skills are a little....umm unrefined shall we say. Hopefully I can work out the kinks and get those done sometime this week.

  2. Great job! Isn't it fun to get something pulled together with what you have? I think the outfit is coming so good. There are some great free baby shoe patterns in blogland. Good luck with making them.
