Quick and Easy Christmas Stockings

First off, I have to say THANK YOU to everyone who has joined in my giveaway so far! You all the BEST, you have no idea how much your comments make me smile. You have until Tuesday night at midnight to join the fun, if you haven't yet and still want to.
So, how is Christmas preparations going at your house? I'm way behind, and I'm thinking I might just cut out some of the things I had planed to do. If Christmas becomes of time of major stress, its time to rearrange some priorities in my opinion. If my house doesn't look like a magazine inside...well, oh well. If you are a DIY type like me, you might understand how we can get caught up in trying to do and make everything, from decor to presents, ourselves. Its not a crime not too...I'm just sayin'. That being said....want to make some Christmas stockings? =)

I had to make one for the newest little member of our family...so being the project overkill person that I am, I decided just go make us all new ones. This is my super, non-professional version on stocking making. First up, free hand or trace yourself a pattern to use. Pin it on some pretty fabric and cut that sucker out.

Also cut out a lining. I used white satin. I also cut out fusible fleece. I only used the fleece on one side of the stocking. Iron the fleece on one of your outer fabric pieces.

Sew the lining stocking and the outer stocking together so you have "two" stockings. Include a loop in your inner one, so you can hang it. I forgot this, and had to add it later.

Turn the outer one right side out, and slide the lining one into it. You want the wrong sides to be together, so that when you fold over the cuff there is no seam showing.

Serge or sew around the top to connect the two.

Sew a very narrow hem around the top.

Fold over the cuff, and you are finished!

Once you have them cut out, the rest goes really fast.

Give it a try and don't forget to send me a picture of yours if you do it! I love being nosey. =)
